Welcome!

The Oakland County Breastfeeding Coalition is a local grassroots organization, whose mission is to optimize state and community support of breastfeeding by leading collaborative actions for advocacy, education, and coalition building. The local coalition shares the same vision as the Michigan Breastfeeding Network; that our state and local communities recognize breastfeeding and human milk as the norm for infant and young child feeding, and that all families will live, work and receive support in a breastfeeding-friendly culture.

Nature’s Playhouse is an all-natural play & wellness center for children & families.
703 Livernois Ave, Ferndale, MI 48220
Founded in 2011, Nature’s Playhouse was established as a sanctuary for parents seeking to connect with their inner wisdom. It is our belief that parents know what is best for their children but many of us get distracted from that inner knowing by techniques, gadgets and ‘expert’ advice. At Nature’s Playhouse, we thrive to support parents and caregivers, by encouraging them to objectively observe their children, engage respectfully, to trust themselves and to find joy in the process.  We, including our children, are always doing the best we can with the knowledge and the resources we have at the time.

Nature's Playhouse offers a variety of health and wellness classes and support services. In addition,
Nature's Playhouse provides space for community support groups free of charge.

When you see a need, meet the need, even if you need help from others to do it. The vision of one or two people can reach thousands. This is only the beginning.
