SB 351, the expansion of the Michigan Breastfeeding Anti-Discrimination Bill is headed for a hearing within the State of Michigan Senate Health Policy Committee!

Where: Binsfeld Office Building, 201 Townsend Street, Room 1100, Lansing, MI 48933
Why: To inform health policy committee members about the importance of this bill, it’s potential positive impact of Michigan families and businesses, and encourage their support of this legislation
Who: YOU! Members of your breastfeeding coalition, your colleagues, families you serve, and anyone else who is interested in supporting this important legislation. Please share this email widely, and encourage folks you know to show up in person at the Capitol.
We need your help! Here is how you can get involved to support this effort:
We are specifically seeking testimony from Oakland County residents who exclusively expressed breastmilk. If you or someone you know is passionate about milk expression, please reach out and encourage them to participate.
Testimony can be given in person on October 4th. Alternatively, written testimony can be provided and read during the hearing with permission. If you plan to attend the hearing, are interested in testifying and/or preparing testimony, please let us know by clicking here.

- Call your Michigan Senator before October 4th to voice your support for this bill.
- Residents of District 9 (Rochester, Rochester Hills, Troy, and Utica along with parts of Oakland Township, Shelby Township and Sterling Heights), please consider attending Senator Webber’s Office Hours on 9/28 (see attached flyer for details). Senator Webber is the minority vice chair of the Health Policy Committee.
- Residents of District 23 (western half of Oakland County - Clarkston, Davisburg, Independence Twp, Lyon Twp, Milford, Milford Twp, New Hudson, Rose Twp, South Lyon, Springfield Twp, Waterford, Waterford Twp, White Lake Twp, Wixom), it is especially important for you to call Senator Runestad and voice your support. Senator Runestad is a member of the Health Policy Committee.
- Attend the October 4th hearing in person.
- Testify in person or prepare written testimony for the October 4th hearing.
- Share this information across your networks.
