Welcome!

The Oakland County Breastfeeding Coalition is a local grassroots organization, whose mission is to optimize state and community support of breastfeeding by leading collaborative actions for advocacy, education, and coalition building. The local coalition shares the same vision as the Michigan Breastfeeding Network; that our state and local communities recognize breastfeeding and human milk as the norm for infant and young child feeding, and that all families will live, work and receive support in a breastfeeding-friendly culture.

Share with us your This is Our Why story! We would love to amplify during a storytelling campaign throughout August for National Breastfeeding Month

What made you decide to feed your child human milk. For some families it may not be a decision, they just knew, while for others they may have had experiences in life and circumstance that presented as reasons, barriers to access or cultural tradition. It is our desire to highlight your why - no matter the reason!
